[edit] RN's edits

I didn't see any improvements in it, and neither did Silence, apparently. I think it's most important that we treat it as an individual title first, and then make reference to its place in the series. Ryu Kaze 20:02, 17 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] FFX FAR

I obviously think it's wonderful as it is, but more than that, I certainly don't think we should extend an invitation to these political guys to argue out the matter while they use our work to make an example one way or the other. Ryu Kaze 21:54, 16 July 2006 (UTC)

To clarify, I think we should leave well enough alone and only worry about it if somebody makes an issue out of it. Ryu Kaze 22:00, 16 July 2006 (UTC)

Where was this? And why? It's not like we didn't follow his suggestions. Ryu Kaze 22:05, 16 July 2006 (UTC)

Well, if you're concerned about it, go ahead and do what you think is best. I'd rather you feel comfortable about it, though I still think it might be an unnecessary invitation to the inclusionists and deletionists. As mergists, we see the futility of such disagreements, but the same can't be said for everybody. Ryu Kaze 22:10, 16 July 2006 (UTC)
So how does this minor review thing work? Oh, and thanks for stopping by FFX-2. I think most of it's ready to go. The Gameplay section is still to be done. I saved it for last because I wasn't looking forward to it. D: But I've also got to get some development info. I should be able to find something. Ryu Kaze 00:56, 17 July 2006 (UTC)
I see. So, should we be concerned? 01:02, 17 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Editing RPG party?

Aye. XD The scenery in our party's not half as nice, though. No offense, of course. Ryu Kaze 01:05, 17 July 2006 (UTC)

Actually, my hair's only about shoulder-length. If I let it get any longer, it looks kind of awkward. Try imagining Russell Crowe's hair in The Quick and the Dead. And, yeah, I also disagree with Flooch's edits. Like, a lot. I'm going to get something to eat before addressing anything, though. Feel free to field this one. Ryu Kaze 01:09, 17 July 2006 (UTC)
At the very least, the musical score needs to be above the Reception section. Ryu Kaze 01:10, 17 July 2006 (UTC)
Cool. You got it, I see. I'm fine with the changes he made to the merchandise section, though. Looks better, actually. Ryu Kaze 01:18, 17 July 2006 (UTC)
Nah, I don't tie it back. It doesn't feel right to me and doesn't really look right either, I keep it at just enough of a length that it doesn't really get in the way like this either.
When I was younger, I never had it long, but as I got older, I tried it out and found that I like it, but that it's also a lot more to take care of. Which is another good reason not to let it get much longer. But I'm sure you know as well as I. XD Ryu Kaze 01:30, 17 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] FFX TFA issues

Hey, Tyler, Flooch just pointed out to me that the TFA page has some rather redundant wording. I changed it on the main FFX page, but -- being that the TFAs are fully protected -- well... I don't suppose you could work your magic, could you? Ryu Kaze 01:38, 17 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] FFX-2 progress

Thought I'd let you know that X-2's good to go on everything but the gameplay. I might wait until tomorrow to work on that, though. Ryu Kaze 03:25, 17 July 2006 (UTC)

Hey. Could you give me some advice on what to do with the Gameplay section of X-2? Really, I'm dreading doing it at all because I hate the Gameplay sections, but I was htinking that the list of dresspheres is kind of poor quality and that it should prosified somehow. What do you think? Ryu Kaze 19:31, 17 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] FF6 FA push discussion

I could use some help from you guys. I am looking to expand the plot section, similar to the FF8 version. I've added a setting section like you said, but it looks like the Plot section needs to be longer. Any help with what to add? I was thinking we could submit this and FFVIII together. Crazyswordsman 21:11, 15 July 2006 (UTC)

If you've got it in you to do a lot tonight, try. Somebody's gone ahead and nominated it for Peer Review prematurely. I'd never ever do that until we all could look at the page and go "Yeah, it's good" like with FFVIII. We'll just have to make the best of it and work fast. Ryu Kaze 02:39, 19 July 2006 (UTC)
By the way, if you can focus on gameplay, I'll try to take care of the other stuff below. I just hate gameplay sections, so if you're indifferent... XD Ryu Kaze 02:40, 19 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Chicago Bears FA push discussion

I've worked on this article for months and have previously nominated it for feature status twice only for it to be rejected. I would like your help since you were apart of the Patriots FA article to check out the Chicago Bears article and tell me what other improvements should be made to this article. --Happyman22 22:36, 16 July 2006 (UTC)

    • Like what in your opinion should be merged with the history section. If you ask me, I like the outline of Arsenal F.C. article better than the New England Patriots article so that is why the Chicago Bears article is modeled after it, and that is why I'm against merging many of the sections together.

[edit] My RfA thanks

Hello Deckiller/archive23, and thank you for your support at my Request for Adminship, which succeeded with an overwhelming final count of (105/2/0). I was very pleased with the outpouring of kind words from the community that has now entrusted me with these tools, from the classroom, the lesson in human psychology and the international resource known as Wikipedia. The Free Encyclopedia. Please feel free to leave me plenty of requests, monitor my actions (through the admin desk on my userpage) and, if you find yourself in the mood, listen to some of what I do in real life. In any case, keep up the great work and have a fabulous day. Grandmasterka 06:45, 17 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] user:CommunicateCommunicateCommunicate

Deckiller, cheers! We meet again. To be point: please unban the aforementioned user. I have communicated to him, and he was convinced me that he was done nothing wrong. I hope this miscommunication between you and him and be resolved quickly. Thanks.

RelentlessRouge 02:09, 18 July 2006 (UTC)

(yes, I borrowed part of your signiature to make me new signiature)

I can't unblock him — I'm bound by our blocking polcies and WP:SOCK. — Deckiller 02:11, 18 July 2006 (UTC)
Jimbo Wales clearly states that multiple accounts are only harmful when wrongdoing is being done. THe aformenetioned user didn't even create an article.
Cheers,

Nevertheless, the policy states: "Do not use multiple accounts to create the illusion of greater support for an issue, to mislead others, or to circumvent a block."Deckiller 02:29, 18 July 2006 (UTC)
Why?

[edit] Sriekit's RfA

Hello Deckiller. Thanks for your help. It closed at 112-2-1. Thanks again. Blnguyen | rant-line 02:14, 18 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Final Fantasy X-2

It's done. Check it out. Ryu Kaze 02:32, 18 July 2006 (UTC)

Thanks. The funny thing is, it's at 46kb, exactly what FFX was before our changes the other day. I didn't even try to cause that to happen. Ryu Kaze 02:36, 18 July 2006 (UTC)
Hm. Okay. Oh, and I was wrong, it's 42kb. :( Ryu Kaze 02:38, 18 July 2006 (UTC)
I kind of have AIM, but I don't allow myself to use it so that I stay focused. I only got it recently when a girl I knew was feeling bad over something and wanted me to talk to her. So I kind of have it, but kind of don't. Ryu Kaze 02:42, 18 July 2006 (UTC)
Hey, thanks. And, nope. I was supposed to be one last year, but the person I was "filling in" for kind of took an extended leave, so I was there for six months of the school year's nine, pretty much doing everything they would have been. It pretty much became official that they weren't coming back, and so I'll be full time as of next month. Ryu Kaze 02:46, 18 July 2006 (UTC)
Hmm. Well, maybe we can do it by way of e-mail. If you want to give it a shot, check my FF FAQs for my address. Ryu Kaze 02:50, 18 July 2006 (UTC)

Clever. XD Ryu Kaze 12:36, 18 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] FFVIII

Does the Story section really need expanding? I can see maybe adding mention of Chocobo World to Gameplay, but I'm not sure what we're really missing from the story. I think the Characters info could use more personality info, though. I'll take care of that. Ryu Kaze 12:38, 19 July 2006 (UTC)

That's the same edit that Silence had us make to FFX, though. I think it's probably better that way. Their personalities are more important than what weapons they carry, at least as far as a Character section goes. Ryu Kaze 16:06, 19 July 2006 (UTC)
Any thoughts yet on the character stuff? I really feel like it adds more than the impersonal weapon stuff. Tells you more important stuff about them. I figured after doing that for FFX, that's what we were going to do for all of them, so I gave it to not just FFVIII, but FFVI and FFX-2 when I was working on those as well. Take a look at each of them and you'll see what I mean, I think. It tells the reader a great deal more than they would otherwise get. Ryu Kaze 23:06, 19 July 2006 (UTC)
Aye. Hopefully, though, Worldtraveller will realize that there can't be a universal approach to something like this. Ryu Kaze 01:57, 20 July 2006 (UTC)
Okay, I semi-snapped on Worldtraveller, though I managed to prevent using any curse words as I normally would. Nonetheless, I'm considering upping my wikistress level. Ryu Kaze 02:08, 20 July 2006 (UTC)
By the way, opinions on the character personality stuff yet? Silence had a great idea with that, I think. Ryu Kaze 02:13, 20 July 2006 (UTC)
Oh, man, I'm sorry. I've been there. The longest shift I think I ever pulled was 16 hours. I hate that bullshit. That stuff will kill you. Ryu Kaze 02:18, 20 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] FF6 FA push

By the way, could you stop by FFVI's talk page? I'd like to get your opinion on the Characters image matter. Ryu Kaze 01:00, 21 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] FF8 FAC

I agree. Are we? I suppose I am if you are. Ryu Kaze 00:59, 21 July 2006 (UTC)

Well done, my friend. Ryu Kaze 01:11, 21 July 2006 (UTC)
Yep, we're going to make it with this one. I think we learned a lot the last time and it's really payed off. Ryu Kaze 12:37, 22 July 2006 (UTC)
I don't remember that, but you're right. I just looked at it while making that other adjustment and it sounded wrong to me suddenly. Ryu Kaze 18:13, 22 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Libya

Hi,

I've recently added Libya to the list of featured article candidates. Overall the candidature is going well with many of the objections now sorted out. The final concrete objection is with the article's prose. I have been the main contributor to the article and have been looking at it for the previous 9 - 10 months. My eyes no longer see it freshly, so I am not a suitable copy-editor!

To meet the final demand of copy editing, I have been advised to ask different people to edit parts of the article.

I would really love to get this article featured as you can probably see from the page's history! I've worked very hard on it and I see this as possibly being the final hurdle.

You can see the prose objections, mostly raised by Sandy, on the candidature page. If you have the time, please choose a section (Politics, Religion, Culture etc.) and copyedit, perfect, ace it! I would be very grateful with any help I can get.

Thanks a lot,

[edit] Question about Canon & Star Wars WikiProject

I have a question about some of the statements on the Star Wars Wikiproject projectpage. The intro states that the project covers "Star Wars materials (canon and non-canon)", yet there is a section on the page called "Canonicity" that states: "Fanfiction, speculation, and non-canon are not permitted and will be deleted, per Wikipedia policy and this WikiProject." This is sort of contradictory and I think the statement in the intro is the most useful. In some cases, it is not possible to attain a certain level of comprehensiveness without discussing a character or idea's development without looking at non-canon sources (an example of this is in the Jabba the Hutt article in the SW literature section).

Also, I have seen editors argue over pictures in articles because of canonicity. For example, a few months ago a picture of the Palpatine from the original Empire Strikes Back was removed from the Palpatine article because it was "not canon" (I swear I saw this somewhere, but I've looked back and couldn't find the discussion; the picture was removed by a user March 21, 2006). I personally thought this was an important picture because it showed the history of the appearance of the character: yeah, Palpatine was originally an old woman with chimpanzee eyes! Still, there is a discussion of this nature on the Jabba the Hutt talk page. Well anyway, I'm just wondering what you think about all this. Dmoon1 02:23, 21 July 2006 (UTC)

So far as I can tell, the SW WikiProject quietly makes an exception for notable fanfiction films, and allows discussion of Infinities and similar level of canonicity things (see Darth Maul and its history for that sort of thing). --maru (talk) contribs

It's a tough subject to find boundaries on; I just tried to clarify it on the project page. — Deckiller 03:49, 21 July 2006 (UTC)

Yeah. You been following the argument raging over whether to include the ST-vs-SW.net external link? Good example. --maru (talk) contribs 03:54, 21 July 2006 (UTC)
Bleh, not really; I've been bogged down with some work over in the FF and CVG departments. — Deckiller 03:56, 21 July 2006 (UTC)
Your clarification looks great. My concern was that someone might try to remove good information (not speculation or non-notable fanfiction) from articles simply because it is not recognized as canon. Dmoon1 04:29, 21 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Block Request

Hello there. I was looking for an admin that was around right now - and you seem like you are - to indefinitely block me (I thought I would never say that). Actually... I simply changed my username to tariqabjotu (see WP:CHU as proof). Thanks in advance. Joturner 06:28, 21 July 2006 (UTC)

All set :) — Deckiller 06:38, 21 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Star Wars WikiProject

I've written the following on the WikiProject ongoing projects or whatever page:

Star Destroyers: Accuser, Xamaural, Avenger II, Bail Organa, Mon Mothma, Admiral Ackbar, Elegos A'Kla, Agonizer, Yakez, Tyrrany, Wrack -- I've written them all, I don't know how good they are, thanks for helping, peer review would be great! RelentlessRouge 12:28, 21 July 2006 (UTC)

Mind to help me out?

Cheers!
