Although the deeds of Decius Metellus are fictional, the man himself was not, at least according to Roberts

Citation? The Metellus family was certainly real enough, but I don't see Decius on the Caecilius Metellus family tree. His uncle Metellus Pius was real, but doesn't appear to have even had any siblings, let alone a nephew. Daibhid C 12:40, 17 July 2006 (UTC)
