Declamatio- Latin to declare is an established rhetorical device of adopting the persona of an ancient figure to express a possible viewpoint or perspective. Such as the Pseudo-Dionysius the Areopagite.

Followers of gnosticism also are accused of using this technic in the constructions of the various gospels attributed to them.
