Dechrau Canu, Dechrau Canmol is a Welsh language church music programme, similar to BBC's Songs of Praise, currently aired on the Welsh television channel S4C and presented by Huw Llewellyn Davies. It is one of the longest running television programmes on any British television channel, the first edition having been broadcast over forty years ago in 1961 from Trinity Chapel, Swansea.
Dechrau Canu, Dechrau Canmol recently returned to our screens on Sunday, September 24th. The series has taken on a new guise, and has a new and diverse team of enthusiastic presenters, including Martyn Geraint. It consists of forty programmes lasting half an hour each and three special hour-long programmes.
The programmes celebrate important festivals and dates in the Christian calendar and place on film the celebration of important national and international occasions where the music is of a devotional and religious nature.
