Decatur Subdivision

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Decatur Subdivision is a railroad line owned and operated by CSX Transportation in the U.S. states of Indiana and Illinois. The line runs from Montezuma, Indiana west to Decatur, Illinois[1] along a former Baltimore and Ohio Railroad line. The east end of the line is near a junction with the CE&D Subdivision; at Chrisman, Illinois it intersects the Danville Secondary Subdivision.

[edit] History

The Decatur Subdivision was built in the 1890s as part of the Indianapolis, Indiana to Decatur, Illinois Indiana, Decatur and Western Railroad.[citation needed] Through leases and mergers, it became part of the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad and CSX.
