Debbi Fields (b. September 18, 1956) is the founder of Mrs. Fields Cookies.

She began her business in 1977 in Palo Alto, California, and since it has grown into over 650 retail bakeries in the United States and over 80 in 11 different countries. Fields began franchising in 1990, and has become extremely successful in that venture. [1]

Prior to her success, Fields loved to bake chocolate chip cookies while growing up. She spent what little money she had at the time on real butter, vanilla and chocolate chips. Fields did not have a formal business education or a lot of money, only a talent of baking cookies and many years of experience. She has stated that she "just had a recipe, and a dream."
