Wikipedia:Dead-end pages
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
This is a list of dead-end pages (see the listing for the date it was last updated). The pages contained on the list below do not contain internal links to other articles, such as if they are not wikified (are plain text, not properly formatted, and so on). To assist, head to an article and read through it. Ensure that it follows Wikipedia:Guide to layout, and that it contains appropriate links to other articles in the Wikipedia. Once completed, remove the article from the list below. You should also make sure it is not a copyright violation or in need of other cleanup.
For basic information about adding links, see Wikipedia:How to edit a page. To find an article that's worth linking to, try doing a search, using the search box on the left-hand side of any Wikipedia page. Be sure to visit the article you find to make sure it's about what you think it's about, and that it's not a redirect or disambiguation page.
Please remove pages that are no longer deadend pages. If they just need proper formatting, tag them {{wikify}}. Dictionary definitions should be tagged {{Copy to Wiktionary}}. If they have other problems, use the appropriate tag(s) from Wikipedia:Cleanup resources.
For articles on AFD or Proposed deletion, you can tag them {{wikify}} (in addition to the AFD or Prod notice) and remove them from this list. That way, if they survive deletion, they will still be tagged for fix-up. (They will not show up here on the next run if someone adds a single wikilink, but this may not indicate the article is fully wikified.) These pages should be de-listed because later updates to this page may overwrite annotations.

[edit] Suggested improvements
- Is it worth checking for external links only to generate a separate list of likely advertisements? - TB 10:09, Jun 9, 2004 (UTC)
- If i made an php script that ran the code listed above, and auto formatted all this stuff would someone higher up install it to run nightly or so? --Meawoppl 19:41, 11 November 2005 (UTC)
- Have a page that takes the overlap between deadend pages and orphaned pages. Would be a good way to screen for AfD candidates. Amcfreely 23:05, 18 April 2006 (UTC)
- Keep dead-end pages that are left just before a re-run in a separate list. The problem is that the list is dealt with mostly alphabetically and reverse-alphabetically. So, pages sort of in the middle of the alphabet stay on this page longer than needed. -- Koffieyahoo 05:43, 12 June 2006 (UTC)
- I've actually been keeping a separate list of pages that are still on the list after a regeneration. It covers the last two regenerations. I was keeping it on my hard drive, but seeing Koffieyahoo's suggestion, I moved it to my user space. Everyone is welcome to work on it: Holdovers. Whitejay251 00:28, 13 June 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Listing
Some deadend articles have been tagged {{wikify}} and can be found in Wikiproject Wikify instead.
The list is very long, so has been split into two sub-pages.
