[edit] Dean Smith Center article

You said: "The other citation just leads to one quote where someone refers to music being piped in. It would be nice to get an article that more fully talked about the incident."
The cited article said:"But we're in the goose-bumps business. To make it sound like it is happening at the moment is hardly a federal offense. It's called Showbiz."
- Art Chansky, on adding artifcial [sic] crowd noise to the UNC broadcasts
I don't know about any 'piping in music', I just found a source where Art Chansky defends the practice of piping in crowd noise. If it doesn't please you then feel free to find more. Duke53 22:47, 19 August 2006 (UTC)
I thought you were citing to the following quote on that was on the referenced webpage - "It's ridiculous to pipe in noise. A live game should be just that -- if the crowd's quiet, it's quiet. If it's loud, let it be loud. It doesn't need to be enhanced." former UNC great Bobby Jones. I think the topic you brought up about artificial crowd noise is a very interesting and I was hoping you could find a reference that fully discusses what was being done because I have not been able to find one that fully discusses this. Where is music mentioned in the passage ("It's ridiculous to pipe in noise. A live game should be just that -- if the crowd's quiet, it's quiet. If it's loud, let it be loud. It doesn't need to be enhanced." - former UNC great Bobby Jones) you quote? Jones specifically mentions 'noise'; I see nothing about music in that quote.Duke53 16:25, 20 August 2006 (UTC)
You're right. I didn't mean to say music in my edit summary. I meant to say "crowd noise." My mistake. I will try to be more accurate in my "edit summary" comments in the future. Remember 17:33, 20 August 2006 (UTC)
