Deathreat (band)

Deathreat is a hardcore punk band originally from Memphis, Tennessee, who draws there sound from classic American, Scandinavian and Japanese hardcore, while bringing in a new sound of their own. Lyrical they cover topics such as the horrors of war, dislike for society and religion, and unjustness of the US prison system, in which vocalist Billy Davis was at one time incarcerated. They have shared members with bands like His Hero is Gone, From Ashes Rise, Tragedy, Balance Of Terror and Signal Lost. They have released several records and done multiple tours in the US and have also toured in Japan, were they recorded their second 12". On their 2001 US tour they rolled their van while driving through snowy weather, but there were no serious injuries. Currently four members live in Portland, Oregon while one resides in Austin, Texas.
