From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Dean Schofield (born 19th January 1979) is a professional Rugby Union player who plays for Sale Sharks. Born in Audenshaw, he plays Second Row/Lock and is a product of Aldwinians RUFC. He first came to prominence when scoring twice as Aldwinians beat Dudley Kingswinsford in the NPI Cup Final at Twickenham.
Nicknamed "Audenshaw's Finest", Schofield is a destructive player as his stature may hint. He is 6 ft 5 in (1.96m) tall and weighs 18 stones (114kg). He is a fans' favourite for his no nonsense approach to the game, never taking a backwards step and his all-round commitment on the pitch.
Although he has not been involved yet, he has been tipped by many rugby pundits and fans to soon make the step up the English national team.
