Dean Gordon

Dean Gordon (born 10 February 1973 in Croydon) is an English footballer who plays in the position of left back. Gordon has international experience with the England Under-21s, After seven years at Crystal Palace he decided it was time to try his hand elsewhere and he moved to Middlesbrough F.C. for a fee of £900000 at the start of the 1998-99 premiership season. He is strong in the tackle and impressive going forward down the left flank. His speedy forays often result in spectacular goals as he lets fly from the edge of the box. In his first season at the Riverside he played in every league game and quickly became one of the fans' favourites. He later went on loan to Cardiff before he joined Coventry City in 2002 and spent two years at the club. Gordon had short stints at Grimsby Town, Reading, Apoel Nicosia and Crook Town followed before he joined Blackpool to play his last English league game to date, on 14 January 2006. Gordon then moved to New Zealand and signed for Auckland North Shore team Albany Utd in June 2006 and then joined A-League team New Zealand Knights In December 2006 in a surprise move.
