Dean Francis, was born 1979 in Newcastle by Tyne. He is an independent film maker in Australia.

Francis has specialised in gay-themed movies/TV-series. These include I Can't Even Think Straight (2000) and Crazy Richard (2002). He attended the acclaimed Australian Film Television and Radio School where he teamed up with producer Justin Davies to create the hit short films Boys Grammar 2004, Afterlife 2005 and Vermin 2005.
