- The correct title of this article is dealspl.us. The initial letter is shown capitalized due to technical restrictions.
The website dealspl.us (pronounced as "Deals Plus") is a social bookmarking web service for storing, sharing, and discovering web bookmarks related to shopping.[1] It has been referred to as a cross between Digg and Bensbargains.net,[2] and was started by the president of Bensbargains.net, Ben Chui.[3][4] It is often compared to Dealplumber.[5] The site also has an RSS capability, similar to tag subscriptions on del.icio.us.[6]
Members of the site can submit "deals," and vote up impressive ones. The most popular deals make it onto the front page, similar to the Digg front page and del.icio.us popular pages. An AJAX interface allows users to rate deals and comments in real-time.[7]
The domain name is an example of a domain hack, an unconventional combination of letters to form a common word or phrase. The .us domain hack was popularized by del.icio.us.
