Deal or No Deal (Canada)

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Deal or No Deal (Canada) is a version of the show Deal or No Deal airing in Spring 2007. The show will begin with a five episode trial run on the Global Television Network (the same channel that airs the American version in Canada). Though the US version is popular in Canada, Canadian residents are not eligible to be on the show, so this new version will allow Canadians to take part. Unlike in the United States, Canadian game show winnings do not carry a special tax.

The host of the American version, Canada native Howie Mandel, will host the Canadian version of the show.

There will be 26 briefcases. The same amounts of money used in the American show will be used in the Canadian version, except in Canadian dollars.

The show will be taped in Toronto, Ontario in January, 2007.

In addition, there will be a separate French language version for Quebec called Le Banquier. This version will do its tapings in Montreal and the top prize will be $250,000. The program will air in 2007 on TVA. The host is Julie Snyder.
