[edit] History
Originally published by Arrow Comics, Deadworld was written and created by Stuart Kerr and Ralph Griffith in 1987, [1] mostly scripted by Kerr in the beginning [2][3] and illustrated by Vince Locke. The comic book quickly became a cult favorite success in the independent publisher industry with its artwork leading in the art of gore. Unfortunately for its readers, Arrow Comics ceased production of all titles, but sent Deadworld over to Gary Reed's Caliber Comics and sold the rights of the title to Locke. By issue 12, Reed took over as the main scriptor/writer, and eventual ownership through his company. [4] Volume 1 ended in 1992. A year later volume 2 started up, only to end with issue 15.
After a lull in its printing, the series returned to print in 2005 through Image Comics, with Gary Reed and Locke working on the series. By issue number 5, Dalibor Talajic took over illustration duties.
