Dazkırı
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Dazkırı is a large district of Afyonkarahisar Province, Turkey, 140km from the city of Afyon on the road to Denizli.
The summers are hot and dry, the winters cold and wet.
Acıgöl, the second-largest alkaline lake in the world, is largely within this district. On the Denizli side of the lake there are plants extracting sodium sulphate, but the Dazkırı lake-shore is still agricultural. There is also potential for mining chrome and other minerals.
Dazkırı is known for its hand-woven carpets.
The actor Aykut Oray is from here.
