[edit] YoungstownWikiProject

Thanks for your message of Nov. 16. My dissertation is on local parochial schooling, so I'll contribute to the piece on the Diocese of Youngstown when I can.haeksang 23:22, 19 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Message about Pierre Gemayel Jr.

Hello Daysleeper, Thank you for the remark and the advice. I will do that next time. My problem was that the name of the article was not correct (because he is actually Pierre Gemayel Grandson, not son). But next time I will just move. Thank you.Themalau 15:46, 21 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Fire Service Volunteer reporting for duty

Hi, I saw your post, because I recently changed the categories of a lot of fire related items so they were on my watch list. I don't know that much about real Fire appliances, but I'm a little obsessed, in that I have about 400+ diecast firetrucks and amnbulances. This week I don't have much time, but I need a break from real work, so maybe next week I'll talk more. I have some ideas about changing the category structures that I wanted to talk to someone about, so I'm glad you appeared. --ArmadilloFromHell 21:34, 28 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] John Carroll Userbox

Would you mind if I made it into a template so that the public would be able to use it, in case there are other JCU students who would like to use the userbox? As it is right now I can't put it in the US Education userbox category. --Wizardman 21:11, 2 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Fire Project

Hi. On UK Wiki articles about UK fire and rescue services, it would be better if the first Wikilink is to the umbrella article Fire service in the United Kingdom. This is more suitable than the generic fire article that's more relevant to the US. I started the above to provide a comprehensive overview. There are only a few individual UK FRS pages - I think I've re-written most of them so they all start along the lines of "statutory fire and rescue service" so it makes more sense to link to the UK wide article - in turn that has links to every UK FRS (and its website), even though many are dead. I hope that eventually more editors will add to the handful of UK articles. Hope that makes sense. Escaper7 05:56, 8 December 2006 (UTC)

Me again just going through some of the fire articles, as per my comments above, the generic term used in legislation in the UK is "statutory fire and rescue service" or FRS. The FRS is the operational bit - the fire and rescue authority is the governing bit at local/regional level. So excuse me for changing the LFB article back to the correct. I think it's better to keep the FRS reference in first as this is factually correct. The LFB is not the "statutory fire fighting and rescue service... it doesn't just fight fires, it prevents them, educates people about them and so on. Apologies for banging on, but if there's going to be a project it must be consistent and accurate - do ask me because the situation in the UK is much different from the US. Regards, sorry for long msg. Escaper7 07:45, 8 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] About the FDNY article

Sorry I deleted that previous entry but I was under the impression it was vandalism of some sort. Just wanted you to know that. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Ishikawa Minoru (talkcontribs) 21:16, 8 December 2006 (UTC).

[edit] Buffalo Fire Department

I just removed that from Toronto City Centre Airport Emergency Response Services and then noticed you recently edited it, maybe it shouod be there, but it seems to have been added by 74.12.104.210 (talk contribs) who made a lot of very weird changes to fire articles including adding what appear to be spurious links to Buffalo Fire Department and Vancouver Fire and Rescue Services --ArmadilloFromHellGateBridge 01:16, 10 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Tyne and Wear Fire and Rescue Service

Hi Daysleeper. Good work with the project, eds are getting involved and things are happening. I've spent ages trying to Wikify Tyne and Wear Fire and Rescue Service, would you be able to have a look at it, to help bring it up to standard please? It has problems with style language and tone and lots of my edits are being reverted - check the history if you've time. All the best Escaper7 20:22, 12 December 2006 (UTC)

Thanks. a lot of work on this has been undone, I have to leave it now. Regards. Escaper7 20:40, 12 December 2006 (UTC)
