[edit] Merger

I think the List of Daytona 500 Winners should be moved into this article because they both relate onto the same topic. In addition, the 500 article is a stub, and for most other races the list of winners is in the main article. Thoughts? --D-Day 21:59, 28 September 2005 (UTC)

The main exception to this is the articles Indianapolis 500 and List of Indianapolis 500 winners. I would agree with the convention that they have started there, that is, describe each race in main article, and have list linked where appropriate, but as a seperate article. Reasoning: Both races' histories are long enough that the list is lengthy, and as such, IMHO, deserves their own artciles. (that, and is bulky and akward in main article, which has already been reason enough for creation of new articles.) So to make a long story short (too late), my thought is to keep as seperate articles, and expand Daytona 500 to include race summaries. -slowpokeiv 15:01, 29 September 2005 (UTC)
Sounds reasonable to me.
I also agree as well. NoseNuggets 11:32 PM US EDT September 29, 2005

[edit] "Racing into the field"

This is no longer accurate. At the 2005 Daytona 500, the 35 car owners with the highest points from the previous year were guaranteed positions for their cars throughout the coming year in all events, cutting the 'racing in' situation at Daytona to a fraction of its former self (as evidenced by Robby Gordon 'failing' to make the race after placing seventh in a qualifying race). The information should reflect the alteration. --Chr.K. 12:20, 7 December 2005 (UTC)

[edit] 1988 Daytona 500

Here's a problem... I'm watching a video of Petty's 1988 Daytona crash, and after he came down off the fence, he was only hit by one other car, not two as the article insinuates. I can't make out the number on the car though.... so who was it, Bodine or Foyt? Search4Lancer 17:16, 30 March 2006 (UTC)

She raced at Flat Rock ,Detroit and Toronto. She had short curly dark hair. [edit] Pages for individual races

Does anyone think that we should start articles for individual Daytona 500's? F1 has articles for individual Grand Prixs, why not start some for the Daytona 500?--Chaz 23:34, 14 September 2006 (UTC)
