Dayna Mellanby is a character in the BBC science fiction television series Blake's 7, played by Josette Simon.
The daughter of a former resistance leader who fled Earth to escape the security forces, Dayna meets Avon in the aftermath of the intergalactic war when his life capsule crash lands on her home planet Sarran. She joins him aboard the Liberator after her father is murdered by Servalan. Dayna is an expert in weapons systems and unarmed combat - equally at home with a bow and arrow or a knife as she is with a laser gun. Despite her intelligence, Dayna has lived most of her life on a backwater planet with her father and is therefore somewhat naive and immature at times.
