Michael Dax McCarty (born April 30, 1987 in Winter Park, Florida) is an American soccer player, who currently plays for FC Dallas of Major League Soccer.
McCarty played college soccer at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill from 2004-05. He appeared in 45 games in two years, scoring 4 goals and assisting on 11. In 2005 he was named the the All-ACC first team. He also played in the USL Premier Development League for hometown club, Ajax Orlando Prospects.
Opting to forego his last two years at North Carolina, he was drafted in the first round, 6th overall, of the 2006 MLS SuperDraft by FC Dallas.
