Dawood Public School

Dawood Public School, located in Jessore Cantonment, is a famous educational institution in south west Bangladesh. The school was established in colonial era by the famous industrialist Daud family. Currently it has ten year schooling program after which students have to move on to another college.

Approximately seven hundred students study here, most are civilians, the rest are the children of military personnel.

The construction of the school was funded by a donation of the Dawood Family of Pakistan. Then Pakistan president Ayub Khan laid its foundation on September 3, 1959 and full schooling started in 1961. Its first principal was K.N. Rambold from Australia.
In 1969, the college program began and ended in 1983 when college department was separated.
