[edit] Welcome to Wikipedia!

Dear Dave Favis-Mortlock: Welcome to Wikipedia, a free and open-content encyclopedia. I hope you enjoy contributing. To help get you settled in, I thought you might find the following pages useful:

Don't worry too much about being perfect. Very few of us are! Just in case you are not perfect, click here to see how you can avoid making common mistakes.

If you are stuck, and looking for help, please come to the New contributors' help page, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! Or, you can just type {{helpme}} on your user page, and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions.

Wikipedians try to follow a strict policy of never biting new users. If you are unsure of how to do something, you are welcome to ask a more experienced user such as an administrator. One last bit of advice: please sign any dicussion comment with four tildes (~~~~). The software will automatically convert this into your signature which can be altered in the "Preferences" tab at the top of the screen. I hope I have not overwhelmed you with information. If you need any help just let me know. Once again welcome to Wikipedia, and don't forget to tell us about yourself and be BOLD! -- Paleorthid

[edit] Link spamming

I reverted your contribution of an external link to multiple articles and redirect pages. I hope this doesn't come as too much of a shock, but, as informative as your web site is, your method of linking to it is considered link spamming and it is highly discouraged. You are, however, encouraged to add content instead of links to the encyclopedia and reference your site when fitting. See the welcome page to learn more. I have reverted these initial contributions but hope you can stick around and get to know the place. -- Paleorthid 01:12, 14 May 2006 (UTC)

I'll take back part of what I just wrote. Even with that weasle-y qualifier, it was misleading at best. Best to keep it simple. Apologies. -- Paleorthid 01:28, 14 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Your bio

I've added the "{{prod}}" template to the article Dave_Favis-Mortlock, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but I don't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and I've explained why in the article (see also Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not and Wikipedia:Importance). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia, or, if you disagree, discuss the issues raised at Talk:Dave_Favis-Mortlock. If you remove the {{dated prod}} template, the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Invitatious (talkcontribs) 15:27, 24 May 2006.

I'll chime in here in support of Invitatious's advice. Notability is needed to retain the article. Evidence in support of notability (tally of google search results, etc.) is needed on the talk page. See WP:BIO for how this is handled. Hope this helps. -- Paleorthid 00:37, 25 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Regarding the page Dave Favis-Mortlock:

[edit] AfD Nomination: Dave Favis-Mortlock

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! We welcome and appreciate your contributions, but all Wikipedia articles must meet our criteria for inclusion (see What Wikipedia is not and Deletion policy). Since it does not seem to me that Dave Favis-Mortlock meets these criteria, I have started a discussion about whether this article should be kept or deleted.

Your opinion on whether this article meets the inclusion criteria is welcome. Please contribute to the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Dave Favis-Mortlock. Don't forget to add four tildes (~~~~) at the end of each of your comments to sign them.

Discussions such as these usually last five days. In the meantime, you are free to edit the content of the article. Please do not remove the "articles for deletion" template (the box at the top). When the discussion has concluded, an administrator will consider all comments and decide whether or not to delete the article. Invitatious 03:09, 26 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] WikiProject Soil

I am pretty sure this project will interest you. You are needed. Cheers! -- Paleorthid 06:49, 8 June 2006 (UTC)
