[edit] Pac-Man
OK, I don't know what's going on, but can someone explain the controversy to me on Talk:Pac-Man? There has been no discussion on this topic, and I'm having a hard time piecing it together from the edit summaries. Also, just as a warning, if you revert the page again soon you will be in violation of the WP:3RR. I have no problem doing the revert for you if the talk page discussion reveals that you are in the right. All I ask is that you explain/discuss this before getting into a revert war. --DropDeadGorgias (talk) 22:12, Apr 11, 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Removing Hardware Info
DaveGorman, thanks for going through the arcade game articles and removing the hardware info from the info boxes that AshSert inserted (without discussion or consensus. I've been meaning to do it myself, but never found the time for it. If you're also removing the marquees, I appreciate that too. AshSert's addition of those images lifted straight off the Internet is a huge violation of Wikipedia's policies. Anyways, thanks for the help! — Frecklefoot | Talk 16:25, Apr 12, 2005 (UTC)
- Uh, oh. I see AshSert is at it again. He's started going through and reverting your reverts. I really don't know what to do about him—he really should be banned. All he does is make more work for the rest of us and he can't seem to abide by consensus decisions. — Frecklefoot | Talk 17:00, Apr 12, 2005 (UTC)

- Frecklefoot, what are you talking about. I haven't seen any contributions from User:AshSert since I reverted his infobox on Pac-Man. Are you suggesting he has sockpuppets? Which articles are you referring to? --DropDeadGorgias (talk) 17:04, Apr 12, 2005 (UTC)

- Ohh, now I see. I've gone through and reverted all of the articles that did not match the infobox on the WikiProject arcade games page. Cheers. --DropDeadGorgias (talk) 17:31, Apr 12, 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Look alike.
Heeeeeeeeeeeeey. Are you this Dave Gorman?
That'd be a turn up for the books.--Crestville 20:05, 20 Apr 2005 (UTC)
All I can conclude from you're reluctance to reply is that you are indeed this Dave Gorman, and you fear communicating me lest I make you some wacky bet which you are unable to resist and as a result, travel the globe and have a nervous break-down.
Allow me to assure you that this is not the case.
I merely wish to know what Paul Merton is reeeealy like.--Crestville 16:04, 25 Apr 2005 (UTC)
Verily, thou art no fun.--Crestville 21:46, 19 May 2005 (UTC)
C'mon, just whisper it. By the way, how's Danny?--Crestville 18:11, 15 January 2006 (UTC)

Hello. Please remember to always provide an edit summary. Thanks and happy edits. Alphax τεχ 3 July 2005 09:48 (UTC)
[edit] John Lennon discography
I am also not a fan of the very drastic changes made to the discography. For one thing it is far too long now. I know that some discography's are now including the album cover's, but I have never known any to include the track listing as well. I'd say revert without looking back, but due to the very frequent occurence of edit wars lately, you might start up the talk page before reverting. In that case, I will just simply say that I agree with you that it does need reverting, but unlike the editor who made the drastic changes, it will probably be best to begin a dialogue about reverting. Let me know what you decide. Cbing01 17:42, 17 July 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Ringo Starr albums
Thanks for the compliment on the Ringo Starr albums. I agree, there is a lot of work that could be done with the McCartney catalogue! Let me know if there is anything I can help with. Cbing01 02:25, 23 July 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Solo Beatles....
Thanks Dave.... You're the first one to acknowledge my efforts. I just couldn't believe what a state some of those album articles were in! I'm up to George's Extra Texture (Read All About It) now....
Thanks again for the thumbs up...
BGC 20:09, 21 August 2005 (UTC)
Hi Dave,
I just finished George, including the Wilburys, and I also created a stand-alone page for Concert For George which, being not by him is technically not a GH album, but I listed it in his discography under the heading "Tribute albums" so that it can be found there.
I'm gonna start on Ringo tomorrow.

Hi Dave.... Just finished Ringo. BGC 23:21, 28 August 2005 (UTC)
Hi again.... Not sure what to do. I'm actually a teacher and just started the school year today in fact, so my time will be limited. Do you have any suggestions? BGC 21:44, 30 August 2005 (UTC)
Hi Dave.... I don't know if they're an interest of yours, but I just spent the last week refurbishing The Rolling Stones. What do you think?

[edit] Image copyright problem RE: Image:Iain Lee.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Iain Lee.jpg. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law. We need you to specify two things on the image description page:
- The copyright holder, and
- The copyright status
The copyright holder is usually the creator. If the creator was paid to make this image, then their employer may be the copyright holder. If several people collaborated, then there may be more than one copyright holder. If you created this image, then you are the copyright holder.
Because of the large number of images on Wikipedia, we've sorted them using image copyright tags. Just find the right tag corresponding to the copyright status of this image, and paste it onto the image description page like this: {{TAGHERE}}.
There are 3 basic ways to licence an image on Wikipedia:
- An open content licence
- Public Domain
- Fair Use
- The copyright holder gets the best protection of their work by licencing it under an open content license such as the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike licence. If you have the express permission of the copyright holder to licence their work under the above licence, use the image copyright tag: {{cc-by-sa-2.5}}. The GNU Free Documentation License is another option. Again, if you have the express permission of the copyright holder, use the tag {{GFDL}}.
- The copyright holder can also release their work into the public domain. See here for examples.
- Images from certain sources are automatically released into the public domain. This is true for the United States, where the Wikimedia servers are located. (See here for images from the government of the USA and here for other governments.) However, not all governments release their work into the public domain. One exception is the UK (see here for images from the UK government). Non-free licence governments are listed here.
- Also, in some cases, an image is copyrighted but allowed on Wikipedia because of fair use. To see a) if this image qualifies, and b) if so, how to tag it, see Wikipedia:Fair use.
For more information, see Wikipedia:Image copyright tags. Please remember that untagged images are likely to be deleted.
If you have uploaded other images without including copyright tags, please go back and tag them. Also, please tag all images that you upload in the future.
If you have any questions, just leave a message on my talk page. Thanks again. --Sherool (talk) 18:15, 28 December 2005 (UTC)
[edit] disambiguation sub-categories
I see no reason for the existance of the human name dab template. You obviously like it. Could you please weigh in at Wikipedia_talk:Manual_of_Style_(disambiguation_pages)/Disambiguation_subcategories? Tedernst | talk 22:58, 4 January 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Image copyright problem with Image:Stephen_Hendry_snookerplayer.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Stephen_Hendry_snookerplayer.jpg. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).
The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}
.
Please signify the copyright information on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator. If you have any questions, feel free to contact Carnildo or ask for help at Wikipedia talk:Image copyright tags. Thank you.

[edit] Image Tagging for Image:Carry ON Cabby DVD Cover.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Carry ON Cabby DVD Cover.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the source and creator of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. [edit] Orphaned fair use image (Image:Ice Princess DVD cover.jpg)
Thanks for uploading Image:Ice Princess DVD cover.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently specifies that the image is unlicensed for use on Wikipedia and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Quentin X 19:41, 23 November 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Anastasia Blue
- Hi. I have noticed that Anastasia Blue is being prodded. Since the guy who did that - whose only occupation here, btw, seems to be prodding articles - has not warned you, the creator of the article, I just wanted to warn you. Regards. Hektor 16:18, 25 November 2006 (UTC)
