[edit] Who am I?

I am a mathematician. Right now I work as an assistant professor in the math department at Brown University. I finished my PhD at Harvard University in May 2004, and was at Rice University for the 2004-2005 academic year.

I am interested in differential geometry and complex analysis, specifically kleinian groups, Teichmüller theory, and 3-dimensional hyperbolic geometry. Through my mathematical work, and as a side interest, I experiment with numerical algorithms (see numerical analysis) and computer-aided mathematical visualization (see scientific visualization).

[edit] What am I doing here?

I have long appreciated the Wikipedia project and respect its goals. I hope to make a modest contribution to the mathematical content of the Wikipedia through revision of existing articles and the addition of some new ones.
