User:Dave & Ted

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Dave & Ted are an unusual specimen of Anglo-American Cross-Over Comedy. They are distinguished from typical American comedy by their multi-layered, intellectual strings of humour, instead of the sort of shock-jokes ubiquitous in 20th Century American Comedies. However, they do not easily fit the mold of English comedy for the following reasons: • They were both born in the United States • Their use of English Accents is inconsistent • They prefer their beer cold • Regular bathing

[edit] Same Person Theory

In recent years several prominent scientists, most notably R.R. Pirate and Ethan Dawg have suggested that Dave & Ted may not be two distinct and different persons, as was originally supposed, but possibly one and the same person, known simply as Dave & Ted. Evidence for this include the observation that they are always thinking and saying exactly the same thing.

One variation on this theory, provided by Professor Mickey Dice, is the "Symphony Theory." He compares Dave & Ted to a symphony, in which instruments can either harmonize identically (wherein two instruments play the same tone) or complement each other (wherein they play different notes that correspond well), and in any piece of music usually alternate between the two possibilities. In this, Dave & Ted can often be saying the same thing, even using the same words, but in their observed differences they complement each other, so that one is tall, the other short; one is buying tacos, the other eating tacos; etc.

[edit] Bingo, Bango, Bongo And Irving

Recently Dave & Ted have centered a lot of their antics on a quad of beings called Bingo, Bango, Bongo and Irving. The objective existence of these beings is still disputed, and Dave & Ted refuse to comment on the matter. In one of his more cryptic responses on the matter, Ted made silly noises resembling crickets and elephants for eleven minutes. Dave later explained his cohorts behaviour as having been caused by "stupidity."
