David Loebsack (b. December 23, 1952, Sioux City, Iowa) is a professor of political science at Cornell College, Iowa, and the Congressman-elect for Iowa's 2nd congressional district.

Loebsack is married to Teresa Loebsack they have four grown children and a stepson, Marcos, a a Captain in the [[United States Marine Corps who has served seven months in Ramadi, Iraq.

On November 7, 2006, Loebsack unseated 30-year incumbent Jim Leach in the race for the United States House of Representatives in Iowa's 2nd District, by capturing 51% of the vote.
