[edit] Why the name change?

Does anyone know why he changed his name? -- Dancemaster 09:39, 21 October 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Not that weird.

"David Chase (born David DeCesare—although some sources list his birth name as David Del Cesare—August 22, 1945 in Mount Vernon, New York) is an American television writer, director and producer . The anglicized version of his name is puzzling, as "Cesare" translates into "Caesar" - not "Chase".

Wouldn't the Italian last name DeCesare be pronounced "De Chay-zaray"? Chase seems a natural phonetic anglicization of this- not all ethnic name changes are translations.

I've gone and removed the sentence in question.
