Established in 1892, Davis & Company LLP is a Canadian law firm with over 200 lawyers. The founding office is in Vancouver, with other offices located in Edmonton, Calgary, Toronto, Montreal, Whitehorse, Yellowknife and Tokyo.
As a full-service law firm, Davis offers expertise all areas of commercial law and litigation practice area. Specialized practice areas include aboriginal law, competition law, professional governance, international corporate governance, renewable energy. The firm's infrastructure and project finance team structures and arranges financing for Canadian and European public-private partnerships.
Davis is:
- The only law firm based in Western Canada to establish a national presence with offices in each of Canada's major business centres and the North
- The only law firm with offices in both Whitehorse and Yellowknife
- The first Canadian law firm to establish a separate consulting arm dedicated to providing alternative dispute resolution services
- The only Canadian law firm with an office in Japan. Davis championed the rights of Japanese-Canadians after World War II, and its relationship with Japanese companies and investors, and those wishing to do business in Japan, is a firm differentiator.
The firm is AV-rated by Martindale-Hubbell and many of its lawyer are leaders in their practice areas according to various Lexpert guides, the Chambers Global Guide, the Practical Law Cross-Border Handbook and Martindale-Hubbell.
