[edit] History
David started off his life as a performer at a very young age. After discovering a natural ability to escape from rope restraints at the tender age of seven he spent his childhood allowing friends, family and fellow kids to tie him to chairs, tables, lamp posts and trees, or just hog-tie him on the floor. He also found a passion for the old American circuses, and before he was ten had started (much to the displeasure of his parents!) reading about the stunts performed by the artists at the sideshows. Studying fire eating, human blockhead, bed of nails, dancing barefoot on glass and many more. He is one of only 75 people in the world today who can perform sword swallowing. After leaving school David went to college to study drama and in his spare time practised juggling, which soon became his professional living for a few years. Following college he trained in theatre at Arden in Manchester and in circus skills at Greentop Circus School in Sheffield. He then went on to perform professionally as a trapeze artist and tightrope walker.
On top of spending the last seven years performing as a sideshow artist David co-founded the ‘Straitjacket Circus’ and has taken escapes, and sideshow stunts to venues up and down the country, and as far a-field as Finland, The Netherlands the US, China, Hong Kong and Korea.
