[edit] Bill 201
David introduced a controversial bill known as Bill 201: Smoke-free Places Act in the 26th Assembly 1st Sitting. The bill gained Royal Assent, after causing much turmoil inside the Progressive Conservative government, and much controversy from the media and the public. The bill was designed to ban smoking in the workplace, but it was amended after Ralph Klein Premier at the time protested saying people should be allowed to smoke in Bars.
Pressure from the media eventually ended smoking by government members in the Legislature, after the media accused the government of being hypocritical.
