Assemblyman David R. Mayer

David R. Mayer (born February 28, 1967) is an American Democratic Party politician, who serves in the New Jersey General Assembly, where he has represented the 4th legislative district since 2002.

Mayer serves in the Assembly on the Commerce and Economic Development, the Education and the Transportation Committees and the Intergovernmental Relations Commission.

Assemblyman Mayer served in the Camden County Clerk’s Office from 1995-2003 as Chief of Staff. He was a member of the Gloucester Township Council from 2002-2003. From 1990-1995 he was the District Director of U.S. Representative Robert Andrews’ District Office for the New Jersey's First Congressional District. Mayer has taught courses in political science at Camden County College and in public administration at Rutgers University-Camden.

Mayer graduated with a B.A. from Rutgers-Camden in Psychology, received an M.P.A. from Rutgers University - Camden in Public Policy and was awarded a J.D. from Rutgers University School of Law - Camden.
