David Landes

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

David Landes (born New York 1924) is professor emeritus of economics and retired professor of history at Harvard University. He is the author of Revolution in Time, The Unbound Prometheus, and The Wealth and Poverty of Nations. Such works have received both praise for detailed retelling of economic history, as well as scorn on charges of blatant Eurocentrism, a charge he does not deny. Landes earned a Ph.D. from Harvard University in 1953 and his A.B. from City College of New York in 1942.
