David Graham (author)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
David Graham is the pen name of Robert Hale (Born 1919), a British publisher who in the 1970s wrote his most famous piece of work, Down to a Sunless Sea.
As the French translator of "Down to a Sunless Sea" (published by Londreys: "Destination Ténèbres"), I want to add a few words about David Graham. The American publishers (Fawcett Crest books/ Ballantine Books, New-York) required a happy end before publishing "Down to a Sunless Sea". Therefore, David Graham had to re-write his last chapter. Under this pen name, he also wrote: - "Seven Years to Sunset" (the story of an American soldier lost in Cambodia). - "Carter's Castle" (also set in Cambodia). Under the name Wilbur Wright, he wrote: - "Now Centurion" (the "life" of Cassius Longinus whose lance pierced the side of Jesus-Christ). - "Time- Gateway to Immortality".
