David Fury

David Fury is an American television screenwriter and producer, best known for his work on Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel and Lost. He grew up on Long Island (in Plainview) and is married to fellow screenwriter Elin Hampton. David's given surname was Shapiro.
Prior to becoming a writer, Fury honed his comedic talent as a stand-up comic at The Improv and Catch a Rising Star, and founded a comedy theater troupe called "Brain Trust."
Before going to work on Buffy, he wrote for The Jackie Thomas Show, House of Buggin, Dream On and Pinky and the Brain.
He was nominated for an Emmy for his season one episode of Lost entitled "Walkabout."
Fury is currently co-executive producer and staff writer for 24.
