David Furnish

David Furnish (born October 26, 1962 in Toronto, Canada) is Elton John's civil partner. They met at a dinner at Elton's house in 1993. A friend of his, who was also a friend of Elton's, left a message for him inviting him to dinner at Elton's. Initially fearing that the dinner would be unpleasant, or that Elton would be boring, he found Elton to be interesting and engaging. Both were attracted to each other; Elton asked for his phone number and the two had dinner the next night. He is a former advertising executive who is now a film director and producer most famous for his documentary Elton John: Tantrums & Tiaras. He also is a regular contributor to Interview. Furnish and John entered into a civil partnership on December 21, 2005, in the royal town of Windsor.
