David F. Booth

David F. Booth was born in Oakland, CA. on November 7, 1969. He attended San Mateo High and then Wesleyan Univsersity in Middletown, CT. His senior thesis, comparing Elie Wiesel and Sholem Aleichem, was subsequently published in Judaism in Winter of 1993, a quarterly journal published by the University of Pennsylvania. After graduating from the Jewish Theological Seminary in New York City, Rabbi Booth served as spiritual leader at Rodef Sholom Temple in Hampton VA. He was a regular contributor to the Daily Press in both the Religion section and the Op-Ed page. From there he served as Rabbi for five years at Temple Beth Torah in Ocean, NJ where he contributed articles on a variety of religious subjects to the Asbury Park Press. He is now the Rabbi of Kol Emeth in Palo Alto, CA.
Rabbi Booth has written a number of articles, including a chapter in the Federation of Jewish Men's Club series, Hearing Men's Voices. He has also written about intermarriage in the United Synagogue of Conservative Judaism's Review Magazine in the Spring 2006, [uscj.org/Reaching_Out_to_the_6987.html]. David Booth is interested in promoting a spiritually sensitive Halakhically based Judaism that is firmly rooted in the Conservative movement.
