Silver Atlanta 1996 Heavyweight

David Dejiro Defiagbon (born June 12, 1970, Sapele, Nigeria) was a Nigerian boxer. Nicknamed "The Dream", Defiagbon fought for Canada and won the the heavyweight silver medal at the 1996 Summer Olympics. Four years earlier, when Barcelona hosted the Summer Olympics, he represented Nigeria, and was eliminated in the first round of the Light Middleweight division.

Defiagbon began his pro career that same year and won his first 21 fights against limited competition, and was a significantly undersized heavyweight although he was 6'5". In his first step up, he took on comebacking Oleg Maskaev, who defeated Defiagbon via split decision. In his next fight, he took on Cuban former cruiserweight champ Juan Carlos Gomez, who TKO'd Defiagbon in the 3rd. He has not fought since this devastating loss.
