David Cooper (born October 15, 1976 in Toowoomba, Australia) is an Australian basketball player who has played for the Adelaide 36ers in the NBL.
He started off by playing for the Canberra Capitols in the Australian Basketball Association from the 1995 season. His last season was to be in 2001, when he was drafted by the Brisbane Bullets. He sayed there for his first two seasons, before moving to the Victoria Giants in the 2002 season. He was also playing for the Manawatu Jets in the New Zealand National League, where he won the 2003 MVP award and lead rebounding in 2004.
He then was once again traded, this time to the Cairns Taipans for the 2003-04 season, and then once again to the Adelaide 36ers in the 2004-05 season. This is where he currently plays. His highest ever score in Australia's highest league was 17 in Adelaide’s 2005 Quarter Final game against Brisbane. Phil Smyth has had to show patience in his big centre before he regularly gets into foul trouble.
