From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
David Collins (born 1984) is an Irish sportsman. He plays on the half-forward line on the Galway senior hurling team.
David Collins was born in County Galway in 1984. He plays his hurling locally with the Liam Mellows GAA club and plays inter-county hurling with Galway. A key member of the Galway senior hurling panel, Collins has a National Hurling League and All-Ireland Under-21 winners medals to his name. He played a crucial role for the Tribesmen in 2005 helping them to the All-Ireland Hurling Final, however, a runners-up medal was all he got on that occasion. He narrowly missed a spot on the 2005 All Stars team, however, he was named Vodafone's Young Hurler of the Year.
He works in the Hole in the Wall Bar in Galway City, where he is famous for his catchphrase, 'Howya now'.
