David Chiu (born August 23, 1960 in China) is an American professional poker player, based in Rowland Heights, California. He is widely regarded as one of the best limit hold'em players in the world.
Chiu used to be a restaurant owner in Colorado. He took a second job as a poker dealer and later became a poker tournament specialist, who earned a reputation for himself by winning the $2,000 limit hold'em event at the 1996 World Series of Poker (WSOP).
He has won 4 bracelets at the WSOP.
Chiu also finished in the money of the WSOP $10,000 no limit hold'em main event in 1996 (10th) and 2003 (55th.)
Chiu regularly plays in the World Poker Tour (WPT) events, and has made one final table, in the first season Pro-Celebrity Invitational event, finishing 3rd behind Layne Flack and Jerry Buss.
As of 2006, his total live tournament winnings exceed $2,300,000.
