David Camp (programmer)

David Camp is an open source software developer who is known for working on the GNOME desktop environment. He previously worked at Ximian and then Novell after it purchased Ximian in 2003.

Nautilus file manager is one of the projects he has worked on. Most recently he, along with Jonathan Blandford and Ray Strode, added a new MIME system to GNOME that is expected to be one of the stand-out features of the 2.8 release.

In 2004 he gave a talk on Extending Nautilus at the GUADEC conference.

In 2005, Dave Camp was one the initiators of the Hula project, an effort to produce an open source collaboration server focused on Web-based calendaring. Dave Camp acts as the Hula maintainer.

He currently lives in Boston, MA.
