From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

David Cage is a French video game designer and the founder of the development studio Quantic Dream, which is best known for its 2005 title Fahrenheit (known as Indigo Prophecy in the United States).

Quantic Dream's only other credit to date is the PC/Sega Dreamcast game Omikron - The Nomad Soul (Nomad Soul in Europe), which featured pop star David Bowie both on its soundtrack and in-game as a non-playable character.

Both games have received considerable critical acclaim, Indigo Prophecy in particular having been held up by many prominent gaming websites as one of the most original and innovative gaming experiences of the year. Gamespot reviewers gave it a score of 8.4 out of 10, saying, "Indigo Prophecy is a game that actually gives the term 'cinematic gameplay' some context, as well as some real heartfelt meaning." Both Indigo Prophecy and Omikron only achieved modest commercial success, however.

Cage has recently announced that he is delaying the production of Omikron: Karma, the long-awaited "spiritual successor" to Nomad Soul, in order to work on a new title for the PlayStation 3 utilizing an improved version of the Fahrenheit/Indigo Prophecy graphics engine. A brief technical demo for the game (tentatively titled Heavy Rain, was shown at E3 2006.
