David Arroyo
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
David Arroyo is a Spanish rider on the Caisse d'Epargne - Illes Balears professional cycling team. He is considered one of the best climbers on the team along with team leader Alejandro Valverde and Óscar Pereiro Sio. After Valverde crashed during one of the flat stages on the first week of the 2006 Tour de France, Arroyo was considered the leader of his team. This was until Óscar Pereiro claimed the leader's yellow jersey after being given a half-hour advantage by Floyd Landis' Phonak team. Arroyo's job after this was to help Pereiro in the high mountain climbs. He is generally un-noticed by commentators and observers, but he is one of the most consistent riders in the Professional peloton, as he is a fine climber.
