Dave Zarzycki
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Dave Zarzycki is a Senior Engineer in the BSD Technology Group at Apple Computer. He is the designer and maintainer of launchd, a core operating system component, which was introduced with the 10.4 release of Apple's Mac OS X operating system.
In March 2000, after working as an intern at Apple for a number of years, Dave became a full time employee assigned to work on the Darwin operating system that Mac OS X is built on. Although other developers already worked on Darwin, Dave was the first developer to be hired solely to work on Darwin.
After the release of Mac OS X v10.4, Dave spoke at a number of conferences about the changes in 10.4, including USENIX 2005 and O'Reilly Open Source Convention 2005.
Dave is also the founder of a community network in the South Bay area of California.
