Dave Parnaby

Dave Parnaby is head of the Middlesbrough youth academy. A native of Durham and previously a Physical Education teacher, he coached England under-15 schoolboys before joining Middlesbrough FC. He was also manager of non-League Gateshead.

Now in charge of developing the youth academy at Middlesbrough, he led his youngsters to the FA Youth Cup Final in 2003, where they finished runners-up to Manchester United. The following year they reached the final for a second successive year and won the trophy for the first time in the club's history with a 4-0 aggregate victory over Aston Villa.

In recent years, Middlesbrough have been noted as having one of the most productive youth academy systems in European football. There are currently no fewer than 19 Middlesbrough Academy representatives playing for England at various levels. Parnaby is the father of Middlesbrough right-back Stuart Parnaby.
