Dave Hodge

Dave Hodge (born 1945, in Montreal, Quebec) is a Canadian sports announcer, who works currently for TSN, and has worked in the past for the CBC. He currently hosts a Sunday morning show called The Reporters, as well as provide commentary for the network's NHL coverage. While on the CBC, he hosted Hockey Night in Canada from 1971 until 1987 when he was fired for throwing a pencil in the air on live TV when the CBC decided to not show the end of an overtime hockey game, in an incident similar to the infamous Heidi Game.
Hodge has also been a play-by-play announcer for the Buffalo Sabres television broadcasts in 1970, the Toronto Argonauts radio broadcasts from 1974-1980, and the Minnesota North Stars television broadcasts in 1991.
