David Edward (Dave) Glover was a fictional character in the popular soap opera Emmerdale played by Ian Kelsey.

Dave was a farmhand at Home Farm, and began an affair with lady of the manor Kim Tate, despite being in a supposedly happy marriage to cafe owner Kathy Bates. When Kim's husband Frank found out he hit the roof and swore revenge on the pair.

Things began to get complicated with Kim discovered she was pregnant, and she planned to run away with Dave, believing the child to be his. However, when the baby was born a DNA test was carried out, proving Frank to be baby James' natural father.

Tragedy struck Dave when after his sister Linda's wedding he ended up back at the Home Farm estate to confirm his plans with Kim to run away. Whilst in James's room kissing him goodnight Dave unwittingly knocked over some cards onto an open fire, thus causing a massive blaze at the house. As he and Kim rowed with Frank outside Home Farm, they spotted the fire and Dave ran back to save baby James, passing him out but becoming trapped himself.

Unfortunately and sadly Dave died in hospital, due to smoke inhalation from the fire.
