[edit] Page move
Is there some reason why this page is not located at Daughters of Utah Pioneers or International Society Daughters of Utah Pioneers?
If there are no comments for a few days, I think I will move this to the former. --Lethargy 23:39, 11 October 2006 (UTC)
- I suspect that it was created as DUP because no one uses the official name. That is at lease trut of all my family members who are DUP members. I would be surprised if any of them even realize the organization has a different official name. Almost all press about the organization, at least in the Mountain West, uses Daughters of the Utah Pioneers. So - if you move - please keep a DUP and a Daughters of Utah Pioneers redirect. - I won't pretend to be an expert on the subject, but I have always heard "Daughters of Utah Pioneers" and don't recall seeing it with "the". As for the official name, I didn't realize it was "International Society Daughters of Utah Pioneers" either, but I don't think it belongs there because IIRC Wikipedia has a "most common usage" rule. --Lethargy 00:35, 12 October 2006 (UTC)

- Here is at least one Utah Chapter/Museum that uses "the" name [1]. Others in my web search appear to use either name, but Daughters of Utah Pioneers does seem to have the majority. My grandmother -- the really active DUP member in our family -- always used "the" when referring to her beloved organization. Apparently the ladies were never too worried about controlling the issue. - I can't remember hearing my grandmother talk about it —not sure how active she was in it— but the offical website uses "Daughters of Utah Pioneers". I'll still wait a little while to move it though. --Lethargy 01:05, 12 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Differences/similarities to Sons of Utah Pioneers
What are the differences/similarities between the Sons of Utah Pioneers and the daughters, and how are they associated with each other? --Lethargy 01:12, 12 October 2006 (UTC)
