dato (Danish: date) is a Danish free daily newspaper owned by Det Berlingske Officin. Launched on August 16, 2006, the newspaper is Berlingske's offering in the "newspaper war" initiated by Dagsbrún's Nyhedsavisen. dato is, however, the first of the recent free dailies delivered to people's homes to begin publishing. It is currently distributed in Metropolitan Copenhagen and the suburbs of Århus. [1]
