The phrase data recorder may refer to:
- A flight data recorder (FDR), one of two types data recording system used to collect specific aircraft performance data.
- A voyage data recorder (VDR), a data recording system designed to collect data from various sensors on board a ship.
- The term may also be (less accurately) used to describe a cockpit voice recorder (CVR), the second type of data recording device found onboard aircraft.
